The first day of the Erste Bank Open main draw kicks off on Monday with some real stars. Alongside three-times Grand Slam champion Andy Murray, fans will also be treated to the tournament’s number 3, Italian Matteo Berrettini, and Spain’s shooting star Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz debuts in Vienna
It all kicks off at 2pm on the centercourt with the match between Nikoloz Basilashvili (GEO) and Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP). Directly after that, the Viennese crowd can look forward to the debut of the designated Nadal heir Carlos Alcaraz. The 18-year old will meet Britain’s Dan Evans.

Murray and Berrettini hit the stage
Not before 5.30 pm, two-times Vienna winner Andy Murray will make his comeback on the centercourt of the Stadthalle. After a long and nagging injury the fan-favorite has improved his tennis over the past weeks and is looking for his first win over Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz who already defeated him two times this year.
To round things out, Italy’s Matteo Berrettini – the tournament’s number 3 – will take the stage on the centercourt for the first time since his semi-final defeat at the hands of Dominic Thiem two years ago. The 25-year old from Rome will face Australian qualifier Alexei Popyrin.
