Medvedev and Dimitrov clash in semis

Grigor Dimitrov (BUL/ ATP 32) and Daniil Medvedev (ATP 4) will face-off against each other in Saturday’s first semi-final (2 pm) of the Erste Bank Open.

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov was the first into the semi-finals after a hard-fought three-set win against American Marcos Giron (ATP 58). After two hours, Dimitrov emerged as the 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 winner.

“I lost my focus a bit in the second set”, Dimitrov analyzed the match which he dictated in the first, dominating his opponent at will. This changed in the second and in the third it was a see-saw-battle, according to the Bulgarian. A late break gave Dimitrov the 6-5 lead and he never wavered when it came to serving the match out.
