After having to bow out from the Erste Bank Open last year due to health concerns, Jürgen Melzer finally got his big single appearance on Vienna’s centercourt – in the doubles, the Austrian is still active with his partner Oliver Marach. For his past achievments, Melzer was inducted into the Erste Bank Open Hall of Fame.
Melzer won the tournament in 2009 and 2010, making him the only Austrian besides Horst Skoff (1988) to lift the Vienna trophy. Altogether, Melzer won five ATP tour titles, reaching no. 8 as his highest world ranking.
