Medvedev advances to quarter finals

Daniil Medvedev, the Russian number 6 in the world had a long way to go until he was able to dispatch of Canadian qualifier Vasek Pospisil in three sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Pospisil, currently the number 81, showed no respect of the great name on the other side of the net in the beginning, overpowering the Russian and taking the first set consequently 6-4.

Medvedev found his groove from the second set, taking it 6-3, ultimately turning the momentum. In the final set, Medvedev wasn’t in any danger anymore to lose the match. He closed the set on his third match point.

Sinner injured
The duel between the two youngsters Andrey Rublev (RUS) and Jannik Sinner (ITA) was quite a short one. The Italian had to give up at 2-1 in the first set due to an injury. Rublev advanced to the quarter finals without really breaking a sweat.
