For Alexander Erler, Sebastian Ofner and Lukas Miedler the Erste Bank Open were already over after the first round of qualification.
In the first match of the day on the centercourt Erler lost to Cameron Norrie (GBR), who is ranked 468 spots in front of Erler in the ATP rankings, 6-4, 6-2. Afterwards, Sebastian Ofner had to bow to veteran German Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4, 7-5. Then, Lukas Miedler was closest to winning at least a set, but ultimately lost to Italian Stefano Travaglia 7-6(5), 6-4.
Thus, only Dominic Thiem and wild card player Dennis Novak will represent the red-white-red in the main draw, starting on Monday.
