Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (ATP 39) advanced against Portuguese Joao Sousa (ATP 67) in straight sets, while German Oscar Otte (ATP 54) had to bow to Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (ATP 61) in three sets.
J.J. Wolf (ATP 56) also advanced after three exciting sets against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics (ATP 91), as did Frenchman Quentin Halys (ATP 66) against Argentinian Pedro Cachin (ATP 57). Nevertheless, the Argentinian advanced as a Lucky Loser to the main draw.
