The US-british pairing of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury has won the doubles title of the Erste Bank Open 2019 after a thrilling 3-set match against the number 1 pair of Lukasz Kubot (POL)/Marcelo Melo /BRA.
In the first set, Ram/Salisbury converted their one and only break point to claim the set 6-4, while both pairs held their serve in the second. Kubot/Melo won the tiebreak to force a deciding match-tiebreak. There, Ram/Salisbury easily disposed of their better ranked opponents to win the match and the tournament 6-4, 6-7(5), 5-10.
Joe Salisbury thus successfully defended his title from last year, when he won the tournament together with his fellow countryman Neal Skupski.
