Because of last year’s success, the Erste Bank Open 500 winner’s trophy will once again make its round through Austria – this time from 15 September to 21 October.
Trophy referencing Vienna and tennis
This year the trophy was remodeled – for the first time by Austrian designer Rainer Mutsch, especially referencing its ties to Vienna’s tennis tournament. To strengthen the references the winner ball will be placed and fastened in the trophy after the final thus representing a very special keepsake. There, the ball will be mirrored on the inside of the trophy at the same time citing the dynamics of the game.
Tour through Austria
The trophy will start its tour on 15 September when it will be displayed in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, at jewelry store O. Rein. After that, it will tour through Austria for a month. In each city where the trophy will be displayed, an Austrian celebrity will be present. The final stop of the tour will be the Rado Boutique at Vienna’s Kärntner Straße, where the trophy will be on display for 10 days from 10 October. Titleholder Lucas Pouille and tournament director Herwig Straka will fetch the trophy on 21 October, perfectly in time for the start of the Erste Bank Open 500, to deliver it ceremoniously to the Wiener Stadthalle.
