The final wild card for the maindraw of the Erste Bank Open has been awarded to Dennis Novak. The 28-year old Austrian (ATP no. 114) has improved his game in the past weeks, reaching the final of the ATP challenger in Orleans (FRA). The other two wildcards go to Italian shooting star Lorenz Musetti and three-times Grand Slam champion Andy Murray, who won the Erste Bank Open in 2014 and 2016.
Austrian Jurij Rodionov received a wildcard for the qualification. Last year, the 22-year old surprisingly upset then no. 12 in the world, Denis Shapovalov, in two sets in Vienna. Another qualification wildcard goes to young Swiss Dominik Stricker who reached the quarter finals in Geneve and Stuttgart this season.
