The run of Spain’s youngster came to an end in the semi final of the Erste Bank Open. The 18-years old super talent was taught a lesson by Olympic champion Alexander Zverev (GER).
Zverev never let Alcaraz into the match, pressuring the young Spaniard from the go with brutal serving and strong and solid play from the base line.
Zverev broke Alcaraz in the first set for a 4-3 lead and the 6-3 win. In the second he broke Alcaraz for a 4-2 lead and went on to serve out the match 6-3, 6-3 with an ace after 68 minutes.

The stats underline Zverev’s superiority in this match: 8 to 1 aces, 3 to 0 breaks and 54 to 38 points.
Wiener Schnitzel as reward
In the on-court interview, the German was very relaxed: “I’m happy with the win. This was my best match this week. Tonight, I’ll treat myself to a Wiener Schnitzel with fries.”
