He is one of the big names on the ATP Tour and meanwhile also a regular at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. Dimitrov met Stefan Dörfler to discuss tennis, the upcoming tournament and the city of Vienna with Erste's CFO. The eight-time ATP tournament winner from Bulgaria reviewed his previous appearances in Vienna, among other things, in conversation with the enthusiastic tennis player and Dörfler.

Dimitrov has played at the Erste Bank Open every year since 2018, achieving his best result to date last year by reaching the semifinals. "Of course, it would be outstanding to win this great tournament once as well," said the current world No. 16, who is one of the "virtuosos" in the tennis circus with his elegant stroke movements - which is why the comparison to Johann Strauss was quickly drawn two years ago. At that time, Dimitrov paid a visit to the monument of the Viennese waltz king in the Stadtpark.

"Vienna not only has an extraordinary tournament, but also a lot of history and sights to offer. I look forward to coming back here every year," said Dimitrov, who recently showed strong form at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai, defeating Spanish world number two Carlos Alcaraz on his way to the semifinals in the last 16 in the Chinese metropolis.
