Tsitsipas completes sensational line-up

Fans can look forward to a spectacular tennis event at the Erste Bank Open from October 18 to 26! Four-time Grand Slam champion and 2023 Vienna winner Jannik Sinner leads a field of nine stars from the top 18 of the current world rankings at the ATP 500 tournament. Shortly before the entry deadline on September 24, Stefanos Tsitsipas also confirmed his participation in Vienna.

With Jannik Sinner (ITA/ATP-2), Alexander Zverev (GER/3), Alex de Minaur (AUS/8), Lorenzo Musetti (ITA/9), and last year's finalist Karen Khachanov (10), no fewer than five superstars from the world's top ten tennis players will be serving at the Erste Bank Open this year. Behind them, the field of participants shines with other big names such as Andrey Rublev (14), Tommy Paul (USA/15), Alexander Bublik (KAZ/16), who has already won four ATP tournaments this season, and Daniil Medvedev (18), following the official entry deadline yesterday.

Tsitsipas, Dimitrov, and Tiafoe also set to play in Vienna

Three other top players stand out on the entry list: Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece, Grigor Dimitrov from Bulgaria, and Frances Tiafoe from the US. Tsitsipas, who has won at least one tournament on the ATP Tour every year since 2018 and has a total of twelve tournament victories to his name, confirmed his participation in Vienna shortly before the entry deadline. The 27-year-old's best result at the Stadthalle to date is a semi-final appearance in 2023. The strength of this year's Erste Bank Open field is also demonstrated by the fact that a world ranking of 3- was required to secure a place in the main draw. The two top Austrian players, Filip Misolic and Sebastian Ofner, will be competing in their home tournament at the Wiener Stadthalle and Marx Halle thanks to wild cards.

“This line-up promises not only an exciting tournament, but also the highest level of sporting quality. If even a world ranking in the top 20 is no longer enough to be among the eight seeded players, that says a lot about the strength of the field,” emphasizes tournament director Herwig Straka.
