The 27-year-old German patiently answered a wide range of questions from his young interviewers – talking openly about his career, his pre-match routines, and his upcoming clash with Jannik Sinner. “I’ve played him three times already, including one win in five sets in Paris. It’s going to be an exciting match – not an easy one for him either,” said Altmaier, clearly enjoying his time in Vienna.
The kids were eager to know more than just tennis details. Favorite food? “Tacos – I spend a lot of time in Mexico.” Or does he ever get sad when he loses? “Sometimes, yes – maybe even cry a little under the shower.”
Altmaier also spoke about his passion for the game, the adrenaline he feels on court, and his goals for the future: “I want to break into the Top 30 next year, but even more importantly, I want to keep improving my game.”
For the kids, it was an unforgettable experience – a chance to talk directly to an ATP pro, full of curiosity, laughter, and pure enthusiasm.
