While the final Grand Slam trophies of the year are being contested in New York, Austrian tennis fans can celebrate some exciting news: Alex de Minaur (AUS/ATP-8) and the American duo Frances Tiafoe (ATP-17) and Tommy Paul (ATP-14) have confirmed their participation at the Erste Bank Open 2025, taking place in Vienna from October 18–26.
With earlier commitments from Alexander Zverev, defending champion Jack Draper, Lorenzo Musetti, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev, the trio further strengthens the star-studded line-up of Vienna’s ATP 500 event.
Alex de Minaur has built a reputation as one of the fastest, fittest and fairest players on tour. His latest title in Washington highlighted both his fighting spirit and sportsmanship, as he saved three match points in the final before consoling his heartbroken opponent.
Frances Tiafoe, a true crowd favorite in Vienna since his memorable run to the 2021 final, is famous for his electrifying shot-making and emotional connection with the fans. With titles on hard, clay and grass, “Big Foe” ranks among the most versatile players on the ATP Tour.
Tommy Paul thrives indoors on hard courts, thanks to his aggressive forehand and love of net play. His Grand Slam résumé includes a semifinal and several quarterfinals in Melbourne, Wimbledon and Paris.
Tournament Director Herwig Straka: “With Alex de Minaur, Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe, our world-class field in Vienna becomes even stronger. These three players bring an exciting style of tennis and a special connection to the fans, making them a fantastic addition to the Erste Bank Open.”
