De Minaur celebrates milestone win against Rodionov

Rodionov held his own for much of the first set, but in the end, Alex de Minaur lived up to his role as favorite, defeating the Austrian 6-4, 6-1 to record the 300th victory of his career. Griekspoor takes out Khachanov.

Backed by strong home support, Jurij Rodionov started confidently and kept the match open early on. The Lower Austrian even earned the first break points of the encounter, but de Minaur fended them off with strong serving. At 5–4, the world No. 7 struck decisively. Rodionov saved the first break point but couldn’t stop the second – de Minaur converted to take the opening set.

In the second set, the Australian immediately broke Rodionov’s serve and never looked back. A second break at 5–1 sealed the deal, and after just under 80 minutes, de Minaur wrapped up a commanding straight-sets win – and with it, his 300th career triumph on the ATP Tour.

To mark the occasion, de Minaur received a sweet surprise right on Center Court – three cakes from Demel and Do & Co, each decorated with the inscription “300.”

Room to grow

Rodionov said after the match: “In the first set, I played my best tennis and managed to frustrate the world No. 7 at times. Unfortunately, I’m not yet used to maintaining that level over a longer stretch. That’s something I need to work on – especially consistency and the mental side. It has to be possible to play at a high level for more than one set. But to be fair, Alex also played really, really well today.”

First seeded player out

In the final match of the day, Tallon Griekspoor (NED) took out number 5 seed Karen Khachanov 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
