Zverev needed just 58 minutes to defeat Wimbledon semi-finalist Arthur Fery 6-0, 6-2 and reach his 12th semi-final of the season—more than any other player on the ATP Tour this year.

“I thought I played a good and relatively clean match,” Zverev said after his victory. “Of course, I want to maintain this level tomorrow.”

Alex de Minaur secured the final place in the last four. He defeated Matteo Berrettini 7-6(4), 6-2 in the quarter-finals to reach the Vienna semi-finals for the third consecutive year. Looking ahead to his encounter with Zverev, the Australian was in good spirits.

“Hopefully, he is slowly getting tired of winning this year,” he joked. “No, he is having an incredible season and fully deserves the world No. 1 ranking. I’m looking forward to the match, I will give it everything and hopefully we can put on a great match for you.”

The pair’s most recent meeting came just two weeks ago, with Zverev prevailing in the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters.
