In addition to the two finalists, fans inside the Wiener Stadthalle were treated to appearances by Britain’s Cameron Norrie, Andrey Rublev, and Austrian stars Dominic Thiem and Joel Schwärzler. The unique format — no umpires, short tie-break sets to 5 points, and music and live commentary during play — once again created an electric atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

One year after his official farewell from professional tennis, Dominic Thiem returned to the scene of his greatest ovations — and was once again carried by the incredible support of the home crowd at his “comeback” in Vienna.
Although Thiem couldn’t grab a set in his two “Blue Group” matches against Joel Schwärzler and Tallon Griekspoor, every single point won by the former US Open champion was met with thunderous cheers.
For Schwärzler, the 2–0 victory over Thiem would be his only success of the night. The 18-year-old from Vorarlberg later lost 0–2 to Griekspoor, who advanced to the final with a flawless group record.
In the “Red Group,” last year’s finalist Alexei Popyrin earned two victories — 2–1 over Cameron Norrie and 2–0 over Andrey Rublev — to secure his spot in the championship match. Norrie salvaged his evening with a straight-sets win (2–0) over Rublev.
RIAN lights up the Stadthalle

Before the final, Austrian pop star RIAN delivered one of the emotional highlights of the night with a live performance of his biggest hits. His chart-topping song “Verwandtschaftstreffen” became an instant crowd favorite, especially after RIAN surprised the audience with a special verse rewritten just for Red Bull BassLine – and dedicated to Dominic Thiem. A truly unforgettable moment.
Griekspoor unstoppable in the final
In the final match of the evening, Tallon Griekspoor proved untouchable, cruising past Alexei Popyrin 5–3, 5–3, 5–0 to claim the 2025 Red Bull BassLine crown.
The Dutchman joins an illustrious list of past champions, following in the footsteps of Carlos Alcaraz (2021), Karen Khachanov (2022), and Alexander Zverev (2023 & 2024).
