Without facing a single break point, Alexander Zverev (ATP 3) sealed victory after 1 hour 32 minutes, firing an ace on his second match point.

“Lorenzo is always a tough opponent to play,” Zverev said in his on-court interview. “I’m happy to be in the final against Jannik tomorrow.”

In the first set, Zverev earned the decisive break to go up 4–3 – helped a little by Musetti and, above all, by a lucky net cord that stopped the Italian’s ball dead. From there, both players held serve until Zverev calmly closed out the set.

The second set took a bit longer, but when the first (and only) opportunity arose, Zverev once again stayed ice-cool, raised the tempo, and broke his opponent’s serve for 6–5. Serving for the match was then a mere formality.

Zverev: "The final Vienna deserves"

A regular at the Erste Bank Open, Zverev also shared his fondness for the Austrian capital: “Vienna is one of my favorite cities and one of my favorite stops on tour. I love the incredible city center, and playing here in front of a packed crowd is amazing. Tomorrow will be the perfect final - one that Vienna truly deserves.”
