“I really like Vienna. I think it is a beautiful city and one of my favourite places we get to visit on Tour,” Zverev explained. In addition to the city itself, he also praised the quality of the tournament, describing the hotels, the food, the people and the organisation as absolutely world-class.
The German is particularly fond of the atmosphere inside the Wiener Stadthalle: “I love playing at the Stadthalle. I love the atmosphere and I can feel the support of the fans whenever I step onto the court.”
The next major goal after his Grand Slam titles
By winning his two Grand Slam titles, Zverev achieved a defining milestone in his career. Having had to wait so long for those triumphs made them especially important to him and lifted a significant amount of pressure from his shoulders.
His focus now turns to the next major goal: reaching the top of the ATP rankings. At the Erste Bank Open, a place in the quarter-finals would be enough for Zverev to overtake Jannik Sinner as World No. 1.
