With Martin Landaluce, another exciting international prospect has been given the opportunity to compete at the ATP 500 tournament in Vienna, which offers total prize money of €2,797,985. The Spaniard currently occupies an impressive third place in the Race to Reggio Calabria, the season-long standings for the Next Gen ATP Finals.

“In the past, we have awarded wild cards to players with great potential such as Karen Khachanov, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Jannik Sinner, giving them the opportunity to compete at ATP 500 level. We are continuing this proven strategy with Martin Landaluce this year,” explained Tournament Director Herwig Straka.

Particularly strong on hard courts

Landaluce first attracted international attention at an early age. In 2022, aged just 16, he won the US Open boys’ singles title. The Spaniard, who trains at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, has also claimed both of his ATP Challenger titles on hard courts: in Olbia in 2024 and Orléans one year later.

With the final wild card, Landaluce is now confirmed for the Erste Bank Open main draw.

Two Austrians in qualifying

Qualifying begins on Saturday at the Wiener Stadthalle at 12:00 noon and at the Marx Halle at 11:00 am. Austria’s Lukas Neumayer and Joel Schwärzler will both be battling for a place in the main draw. The allocation of one additional qualifying spot will depend on the results of Challenger tournaments that are still in progress.
